Fire in the open – Littleport - East Cambs

At 1.11pm on Sunday (9) crews were called to a fire on Mildenhall Road in Littleport.

Crews from Ely, March and Wisbech, along with the south roaming fire engine and crews from Newmarket and Haverhill in Suffolk, attended the incident.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a field and extinguished it. They were supported by local farmers to create firebreaks.

The crews returned to their station 4pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
